| Dr. R. Shashi Kumar Kumar | 18/10/2008 | | An important aspect of agriculture is to improve the productivity of the agricultural and it's allied sectors. What has happened recently in the agricultural sector, generally in India, and particularly in Karnataka, is gathering information about how to maximize the production with minimum of waste. Also, how to secure the food that has already been grown. In this direction, the Government of Karnataka has done a tremendous work. The Report of the Official Group of Government of Karnataka have recognized the important problems and thrust areas for improvement of the agricultural sector. The issues like Crop Loan, Ground Water and Envirnment Protection, Electricity, irrigation, seed and input distribution, Support Prizes etc., have brought the codified developmental aspects of agriculture. With these issues, the people of Karnataka, especially, the farmer, would benefit. As I found, the major context of agricultural marketing and agriculture research extension activities would really benefit the farming comminity.
